Why Black Friday is the Best Day to Shop!

Black Friday is by far the best day to hit the mall with your girlfriends and enjoy a little retail therapy.  Not only to enjoy the rush of getting that amazing deal, but all that walking and carrying hundreds of bags is definitely helping burn all the calories from that incredible pumpkin pie from Grandma that you stuffed down your throat!

A couple of years ago my sister and I went Black Friday shopping at 11pm on Thanksgiving day.  We shopped till 8am, drank way more coffee then anyone would consider normal and bought so many things that we had to go shopping for hangers to be able to put it away!  Needless to say, we had a super fun time, got great deals and some serious sister bonding!

Lady Gaga or Donatella?

Lady Gaga is the new face of Versace, and in the new ads that have just surfaced the star is seriously channeling the famous brand's designer Donatella Versace! Versace announced over twitter this Saturday confirming that Lady Gaga is in fact the new face of the Spring/Summer 2014 campaign, shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott.

This choice is definitely not surprising since Lady Gaga has been a huge fan of Versace for years now.  They even created all the looks for her 2012 Born This Way tour and the singer  dedicated a song on her new album to Donatella, called "Donatella".  Versace loves Gaga and Gaga clearly loves Versace.  It's a match made in fashion heaven!

The Zodiac according to Charlotte Olympia

Charlotte Olympia does it again - and we couldn't expect her not to! The fabulous and super innovative designer took one of women's favorite subjects and transformed it into super cute and obviously a super fashionable new line of flats and clutches. Her newest line called "Birthday Shoes" is fully inspired by the 12 zodiac signs, “I’ve always had a thing for all things mystical,” says designer Charlotte Dellal. “I don’t live by astrology but I do love to know other people’s signs; I’m quite good at guessing.”

I'm a true Leo from head to toe and deep inside my heart, but with the breathtaking variety of designs and colors in this collection I almost wish I was a Gemini or a Libra - they are a must have!  The beautiful suede slip-on with a Swarovski crystal-embellished motif representing each sign retails for $695 while her staple Pandora clutches go for a pricey $995 and are pretty much already sold out in most retail locations and websites.

So be spontaneous like a Sagittarius or super fashionable like a Leo and a Libra and go get your own piece of Charlotte Olympia "Birthday Shoe" collection!

Charlotte Olympia's Brazilian Collection

Charlotte Olympia Dellal, is the half-Brazilian, half-English designer behind her self titled label Charlotte Olympia.  The 31-year-old designer, whose mother was a 70's Brazilian model, brought much of her background as inspiration for her 2013 Resort Collection called 'Glamazon'.  The collection is super fun and filled with bright colors, flowers, animal details and even the super Brazilian and iconic “Senhor do Bonfim” ribbons.  As a Brazilian woman I am extremely proud of the work Charlotte has done in this collection.  I think it portrays our culture in a beautiful and super fashionable way.  I can't wait to get my hands in some of these designs.  I'm sure these shoes will make you want to sip of some delicious caipirinha and listen to good Samba music.

Vogue España is on Fire!

Mario Testino does it again, and this time it is hotter than ever!  In the December issue of Vogue España, he captures the most beautiful women in the world in extremely sensual, high fashion and playboy-esk images all at the same time.  The gorgeous  Isabeli Fontana, Doutzen Kroes, Karlie Kloss, Miranda Kerr, Toni Garrn, Irina Shayk, Constance Jablonski, Edita Vilkeviciute, Alessandra Ambrosio & Izabel Goulart were the lucky models chosen to be in front of Mario's lens. Of course the main super model in this issue of Vogue España is Mario's all time favorite Kate Moss, who has her own spread in the magazine and made it on the cover. Duh, not surprised at all!  A Thanks to Mario Testino from the fashion world and most men who see these images - I guess this is our Christmas gift from him.

What They Wore - 2012 MTV European Music Awards

The MTV EMA's took place last night in Frankfurt, Germany and the event looked like it would be a promising one ever since Heidi Klum was announced as the host of the awards show.  The night was fun and exciting and the winners were many, however the outfits....well... I was a bit underwhelmed by what I saw (and I think that's putting it mildly).  I'm usually not one to critique at all, so I wont, I'll leave it up to you guys to decided what you thought of the outfits of the night.
